The Pink Sink is, as the image indicates, a chair that looks like there’s no way you can sit on it... until you do, and then you realize it’s very, very comfortable.

It’s available in colours other than pink, has removable covers, can be folded for transportation and storage, and is, well, plain sexy. The body is made from 100% stainless steel and the seat from three different material not including the eight years of toil that went into it.

Designed by Lekha Washington and prototyped over six years, this patented chair is as original as it gets.

The easiest way to sit on the Pink Sink is, well, to just sit in it. Trust that it will not let you down because it has three layers of fabric, including a non-stretch inner layer to allow it to be as comfortable as it is visually playful.

Setup of the chair is an easy three step process.
Step one: Align the two beams together,
by holding the seat in place.
Step two: Slide one beam into its lower counterpart.
Step three: Insert the second beam into its lock in system.

It’s good to go!

WILL IT TAKE MY WEIGHT?
The Pink Sink is comfortable for upto 120 Kgs. In the
unlikely event that you manage to break it within
the first two months, it is covered under warranty,
and we shall hire you as our new product tester.

WILL I REACH THE GROUND?
There is a non-stretch canvas layer in the sink
that self- limits, so it is unlikely that
you will reach the floor.

WILL IT SAG OR RIP SOON?
Like any upholstery, the Pink Sink will also
wear and tear, but the process is quite slow, and
after a couple of years, if you do notice a sag, it’s nothing a
Pink Sink cover can’t fix!

WILL IT RUST?
The Pink Sink is made of 100% stainless steel, so no,
it will not crumble.

CAN I COPY THE DESIGN?
The Pink Sink is an original design
and if you would like to copy it or make cheap
knock offs, we will take offence.
Just write to us, we will be happy to send you our
test pieces made with less expensive
material instead.

WILL IT GET THROUGH MY DOORWAY?
Keeping space constraints in mind, the Pink Sink
is foldable into two parts, so it gets through most
doorways, and can be stored when not in use.

A product worth making, we believe, is not merely decoration of an old concept, it is an original approach to a situation, seen through to its best possible conclusion. It’s a great idea delivered. It’s not the speech, or the accompanying booklet, it’s that moment when someone looks at your product and goes "Whoa!".

We hope to create a range of pieces that are not stand alone - they need user interaction because we believe our customers are intelligent, creative folk who would enjoy being inspired.

At Ajji, to remind ourselves of this, we whet all our endeavors with the SOUP philosophy : are they Simple, Original, User driven Pieces? Simple Is usually never simple to achieve and it can be quite frustrating when someone has thought up that idea before you, but we believe there is always a great idea that hasn’t been done yet.

User interaction is our personal design brief, or constraint, as it were. Additionally, we want our work to last forever, so we do use the absolute best materials that we possibly can- even in the nooks and crannies that you can’t see.

Over and above anything else, we are quite in love with what we do, we’re a bit stupid like that.

India by it sheer population, caters to a mass market. A market where products are made in numbers, and, by and large, there really isn’t that much time or money for R&D.

At Ajji, we beg to differ. We would like to create products that uphold intellectual property, and do their time in the prototype stage so that the final product really is at good as it gets.

Products here are original patented designs and in an environment where duplication is an easy option, we intend to still continue to stick our neck out for that one of a kind idea .

Ajji is a tiny company with big dreams started by Lekha Washington, a product designer, sculptor, actor and teller of silly stories. It is named after Bhavatharani Ghorpade, a.k.a. AJJI to all who knew her, a woman who's creative,
determined, pig-headed and a pathbreaker.

The Dot is an exercise in drama and simplicity, subtlety and precision. Available in a dramatic crimson hue, it transforms a space completely.

It easily hinges on the wall, much like an LED television, and is very comfortable to sit on.

Designed by Lekha Washington as a part of the Sink collection, the Dot is a visual mirage, channelising several references, from the bindi to the circle of the sun, or "Hinomaru".

The Dot is installed as a latch-on system, which easily locks into place. In order to take the dot off the wall (for re-upholstery or cleaning) all one needs to do is push upwards and unhook it.

Our skilled technicians will undertake the installation.

Covers of the Dot do not require for the piece to be taken off the wall, as they can be easily slipped off.

Is it heavy?
Since the entire dot has been fabricated using lightweight steel, it is not heavy and is easily portable.

Does it cause wall damage?
No. There is a bracket system bolted onto the wall, which is as neat as the one that holds an LCD TV.

Can it take my weight?
It has been tested up to 200 kg, so yes, it can.

It looks like it could be straight-backed or uncomfortable. Is it?
It has contoured foam backing to allow back support. Additionally, the bend of the ring has been ergonomically perfected to allow maximum comfort. A fully supported cushion seat is also inbuilt.

What if I want to change its location?
You can change the location any time you like. We will be happy to send our technicians to help you, or your local carpenter can re-install it for you.

What if it gets stained?
The cover is removable and washable - and you don’t even have to take off the dot!

The SQUAIR chair is solid and grounded, yet doesn't loose the inherent play of the Sink collection. It has extra plush cushioning on the inside allowing it to be ridiculously comfortable while at the same time having it's tongue firmly in it's cheek.

The Squair comes with a simple slide on cover to keep the whites white. It is pre- scotchguarded and is a plug-and-play couch that you can sink into right out of the box.

There are also two part versions of the Squair available for those who would like to change their upholstery frequently or would like to fold it away for storage.

Will it sag with time?
As with all things, over a long period of time, wear and tear is inevitable. All you will have to do is call us to re-upholster. Alternatively, there are covers we can send you to keep it as good as new.

Will it take my weight?
Ofcourse it will. Or your money back, guaranteed.

What are the colours available?
Currently, we offer cream and pink, grey and pink and cream and bright orange.

The Drop uses patented Sink ® mechanics to create a chair that looks like there's no way you can sit on it- until you do. The cover of the Drop is removable and washable, the object itself foldable and very light-weight. All it needs is a regular fan-hook to latch onto, the effect being dramatic, futuristic and space-changing.

The drop will be custom made and installed by our team of technicians.

However, in case you require to do it yourself, these are the steps to be followed:

STEPS TO INSTALL AND UNINSTALL THE DROP

Slide the two pieces of the frame in place and secure with the nut and bolt system.
Slide the covering band above the joinery to ensure seamless finish.
Slide the cover over the second part of the frame till below the ring and zip the middle portion.
Hook the ceiling hook to the drop latch, using the smallest S-curve possible by holding the drop as tightly to the ceiling as possible.
Once latched onto the ceiling, cover the ring on top with the elastic cover.

In order to take the cover off the Drop, the following steps need to be taken :

Unhook the Drop from the ceiling.
Unzip the middle portion of the cover and slide the band down, providing access to the lock in system.
Unhook the base of the cover.
Unbolt the middle separating the frame into two parts.
Slide the cover to the middle and remove.

Will it fit?
The drop is custom built with your space in mind and hence will fit all ceiling heights.

Will it work with a false ceiling?
No, as a false ceiling cannot be load bearing, the drop needs to be attached to the main ceiling.

What if I stain the fabric?
The covers of the drop are both scotch guarded and washable and removable.
